2004 Draft Day

The Steering Committee for the Booster Clubs of the Oakland Raiders hosted its annual Draft Day event on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Ricky's Sports Theatre and Grill in San Leandro.

Representing Raiders Booster Clubs from all over United States (Jeff Haldeman was there from the York, PA club!!!), more than 350 boosters were present to partake in the excitement of the day. The boosters were all present at Ricky’s to watch our beloved Raiders select the newest members of the squad

As we all awaited the Raider’s picks, the boosters rekindled old friendships and established new ones that will surely last for many years.

For the mere cost of $22 per person (adult) and $15 (children), each person in attendance received a tasty steak or chicken luncheon with all the fixins, a chance at two adult door prizes (2 Raiders bar stools and a mini helmet signed by all the players in attendance), a chance at one child door prize ($40 Toys R Us gift certificate) a photo button and a tin of mints (inscribed with the Steering Committee logo) to commemorate the day. Additionally, over 75 lucky people won wonderful raffle prizes (Raider and non Raider items).

To add to the festivities, present were two Raiderettes (Elizabeth Barry and Adrianne Harris), Raiders players (Tim Johnson, Tee Martin, Shurron Pierson, Ronald Curry, Donny Green, Derrick Gibson, Ted Washington, Travian Smith, Langston Walker and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila). Jim Otto stopped by to participate in the booster event and was gracious enough to sign many autographs and pose for several pictures with the appreciative fans! A DJ from the Raider Drive club spun sounds of today as well as our favorite Raiders themes!!
